I'm trying to sort through a mess of Babel wikis which were requested years ago, created on their own domains, then promptly died. Specifically I'm looking at ones which still have 35 pages or less (as of March 1) and little or no activity, ignoring subdomains, ignoring anything not hosted here.

I would like to drop most of these pointless, individual domains and move the wikis to xx.uncyclopedia.info so as not to be endlessly renewing domains on which there is no content or no activity. Presumably the old domain can be left as a redirect until it expires, then it's gone.

Lang Pages Name Expiry Activity?

I will not necessarily support this measure because this measure can serve as a pretext for users of large wikis wanting the elimination of small wikis to use the space left by them. However, if the community wish we discuss about the idea. Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,347 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 02:19, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Go ahead, kill 'em all! No need to waste money on dead projects. Cthulhu.fhtagn (talk) 10:17, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Ah, thank you for explaining yourself, Carlb. Since at least Paudurapedyja and Scotypedia have at least one semi-active user, not counting me, I wish you had not broken them so; is there really no way for you to make the links work properly? The full urls don't redirect, they just say 404 not found, but the root of the domain does redirect. You have other wikis where it works, why can't you do it here? Could you, please? Unfortunately my point of view tells me anything about including Paudurapedyja and Scotypedia, Llwy. By myself or with one user be able to stay active because of that I see no alternative to keep them. I've for seen this for a long time. I made some suggestions in the past about moving these wikis from individual domains, which is much cheaper and easier. I was actually quite puzzled after Carl's first mention "I can register it for free". That's among others the reason why I anticipated with the zea: request. The dead project "communities" (commonly dialects or strongly related language wikis) also appear to need policy and guideline support from the wiki of origin. Apart from the fact that every project deserves sovereignty, it's not that unusual to have this kind of subdomain arrangement in first place. So yes, approval from me | Cartoonist | Spit it out (talk) | E-mail | UnMeta | 14:36, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
I don't mind this in the slightest except that the links are all broken now. Please fix it. Llwy ar lawrlogimalpedie:en:be:ga:la:ru:sco: 05:46, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
Çciclopédia is not on the map of European languages and feels neglected.
I am forced to agree with the situation you are in these wikis, making me a little apology. Say I have a subscription package multichannel cable TV and I have about 10 channels that are uninteresting. It is quite logical that the next aualização I wanted to remove these 10 channels. This is the problena here, unfortunately these sites will never have space if not constitute a community and (at least) in the case of dead wikis, we know they will not have that chance.
Because of that, this argument that I agree with the elimination of wikis (note the physical removal) since they are no longer independent as you can open a dangerous founded and in case a bad intentioned person could ask for and deleting wiki medium size but abandoned with a good number of articles. I can say that for example, my wiki only became relevant only when surpassed 1,000 articles may become more visible and stop taking risks with a possible elimination if abandoned. Example that does not exempt Çciclopédia, for example, with a mere 140 articles and developing very slowly. There is absolutely no need to delete these dead wikis, I believe. The only reason I can come up with would be for spam's sake. I want them to exist, because there is always a chance that some time some user finds the courage to build it up. And it's just fun to have got the languages, regardless | Cartoonist | Spit it out (talk) | E-mail | UnMeta | 21:58, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
@Carl: you might consider to move them to languagecode.uncyc.org? It's shorter and you keep the parody "look" like in .wikipedia.org | Cartoonist | Spit it out (talk) | E-mail | UnMeta | 21:58, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
I don't think deleting the wikis was supposed to be up for discussion here - I thought this was about moving them to xx.uncyclopedia.info, which has already been done without any discussion really and as such can't be considered a proposal. De UnMeta... And I guarantee you would be redirected to Çciclopédia for mwl.uncyclopedia.info that way? Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,347 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 10:12, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

mwl.uncyclopedia.info seems to work ok for me right now, but I notice that sometimes all of carlb's wikis go down and I see that error message, unless there's a cached version of the page in which case it displays that with a message bar at the top saying it is cached and the site is offline. I suspect it has something to do with making too many queries too fast - I've been working on reverting about 15000 very old edits by a vandal on mirror.uncyc.org and sometimes once I get to a certain point it will show that error - but then it could be just a coincidence.
