This page will have a huge Wikia-discussion level. No worries, this discussion will be peaceful.

Hi Uncyclomedians!

The title of this topic says enough. I'm planning to have a new ambassador from Uncyclopedia Dramatica. I have been thinking a very long time on this, and I think it's right to burry the battle axes/pencils/keyboards and replace the Wikia-anger with an ambassador.

Why in heaven's sake do I want to have an ambassador for Uncyclopedia?

  • Uncyclopedia is the grandmother of the whole uncyc family
  • Before grandmother dies... Uncyclopedia is the second biggest uncyc and it would be a pitty if we were not intended to have relationships with them.
  • For better communications between Uncyclopedia and UnMeta/the rest of Uncyclomedia.
  • Maybe for a stronger voice against any kind of threat (read: Wikia).
  • To listen to their arguments and suggestions
  • To let them have a voice in UnMeta and vice versa
  • So they can address international problems, suggestions, questions to us.

I know we had a heated debate with them in the past. But still... everyone has his own opinion right? I want to give them a chance and welcome them warmly. I want to have them as an ally.

Of course I want to discuss this with you all, and I want to hear your arguments | CartoonistHenning (talk) 20:33, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

I have expounded what happened on Uncyclopedia and UnMeta to Alz already be familiar, I think he has only a small idea of the problems that occurred in the two years between our sites. (Uncyclomedia and Uncyclopedia) At another point, there are no problems between Desgalipedia and Uncyclopedia in case of participation in the project's first FO. This line sounds very good. I totally agree with the dialogue, peaceful solutions and especially the union. If Uncyclopedia agree I will not be against the new ambassador. ABDUL ALHAZRED Salah, Zakāh, Ramadan, Hajj 20:55, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

I want to discuss these two issues. I remember very well how it ended our last intervention in the Uncyclopedia. And the results were bad for UnMeta. With the exception of one or another user who showed up were lost contacts between communities. The users of Uncyclopedia accuse Carlb of abandoning the project and do not give much reason to listen.

The second point is more complicated. At least there is no guarantee of small and medium uncys want to move to the side of Wikia. The large, only users of the Desciclopédia for fear of thinking that the server problems become irreversible is that tried through voting change, there is no consensus.

While other versions uncys as the Japanese sought. The solutions to this problem I believe are simple:

  1. The first has already been made to provide seats for the representation of the Desciclopédia in UnMeta;
  2. The second is to strengthen ties with each Uncyclopedia's Wiki in separate;
  3. end... avoiding serious problems of servers give less arguments for novice users ever entering a Wikia wiki, believes that the servers are better than ours without noticing the details. Something like: Do not judge a book by its cover.

Rhubella, you're absolutely right. But the discussion is not about moving to their servers. We just want to have Uncyclopedia as an ally. Cut my head off if UnMeta ever moves to Wikia :p CartoonistHenning (talk) 21:48, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
If you depend on Carlb and us, not believe the day will need guillotines here. Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,343 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 01:11, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Okay, silly question... nevermind what happened in the past, what exactly would be the benefit of the english uncyclopedia having ambassador here? For either group, really. And I mean specifics, examples and the like; what you've said seems very lovely and very vague. Athyria (talk) 16:41, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

To have something to say, to give suggestions, to have someone for international contact, dunno... you won't get $$$$$$ for it but I think you shouldn't see it as a "benefit", rather as a "must". But if Uncyclopedia doesn't want to have international relationships, good for me... CartoonistHenning (talk) 17:26, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
It's exactly the problem. I think they do not take full advantage of the situation. I mean, Wikia offers the best benefits for anyone who uses your server. However, in their case as opposed to someone younger wikis if someone knew of Uncyclopedia said... Oh! get out of here and become independent.(?) Easier to persuade a small wiki does not participate in the Wikia, it is also easy assures the support of a small uncy independence of Wikia, we have three examples from that forum when Occitan uncyclopedia was convinced the Russian voted for independence and Belarusian version of Wikia disappeared. Wikia offers a broken website and complacency. And even on the occasion that they do provide something useful, it usually turns out to be broken as well... like abusefilter. They got us that, and whaddya know, it only works on the wikia skin because their 'developers' couldn't add one line to check which skin is being used before cockily removing a chunk of the mediawiki that just maybe was there for good reason... bloody couldn't develop their way out of an empty room with a whole lot of doors. Except some better analogy, because I suck at coming up with analogies.
But, er... topic. Right, that's... not entirely what I meant. I mean, what is this even for? What would an ambassador do? that kind of thing? ~ Pointy.png 20:54, 25 September 2011
An ambassador's job is not inform the Wikia Staff about bugs, it's purely international. I mentioned the most important arguments earlier | CartoonistHenning (talk) 07:44, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
I was ranting, mon; that's really beside the point. I still don't understand, though; what would they do? More to the point, what could they do? Bard's right, see - what 'community' there is there is a shambles; the only things they can agree on are technical - install x? Enable y? Try to bring up anything relevant to the folks themselves, any major issue or possible improvements or anything and one's just apt to get laughed away if they're lucky, or a start a massive argument that goes nowhere and drives even more users off the site if not. I should know. I've tried.
So yeah, Bard is right... they don't even bloody have relations with themselves. On the other hand, giving up on those idiots won't necessarily help either, but if this is to go anywhere, it would be a much bigger undertaking than you seem to realise. But hells, you've sold me. You've both sold me. It'd be helpful to the english Uncyclopedians, alright, if it'd work; it just wouldn't work. Wouldn't be helpful to the rest of you at all for the same reason it wouldn't work. Perhaps that's why I was so confused. ~ Pointy.png 13:24, 26 September 2011

This would be a worthwhile errand if anyone at Uncyclopedia.wikia.com cared about anything. They don't care. About anything. Well, nothing beyond their own existence, anyway. Their wikia overlords are still providing them with a pot to pee in. They're happy, and quite unconcerned about what goes on outside the bowl, behind the tank, or on the floor below.

That said, I do believe that interwiki relations are important. They're just best pursued with wikis that are actually interested in fellowship. ~ The Bard of UnMeta 15px-Quill.gif 12:33, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

In my point is the function of ambassador in UnMeta a "function" (it's more like a title) where users from "foreign Uncyc's" can ask questions about things like interwikichanges, content containing things, idea's and other things, specifically for/about Uncyclopedia (and other Uncyc's, depends on where the user is ambassador from). So if I got for instance a request to change an interwiki-link, that I can ask a question to you if that could be done. Roye7777777 ~ Talk 15:00, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Well, for questions and whatnot, I tend to be around just because this is the hub of a network containing one of my favourite wikis, but while I'll respond, I tend to make an arse of myself around anything regarding the english Uncyclopedia... sorry about that. But as for someone to whom to tack the official 'title' or whatnot, I'll see what I can do to make the folks vote on it; they love voting. Not that there's any guarantee that anyone who gets votes would actually, ah, do anything, but that's another matter. ~ Pointy.png 17:05, 26 September 2011
I agree with Henning. We should at least try, and offer it. FeyBart My Garbage 12:15, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
I agree with myself that you should put your sig in 1 template. Roye7777777 ~ Talk 18:59, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Ok, I'm here[edit]

Let's go to work. --Black Flamingo 20:11, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Ok, who wants to be the first person to explain how signatures work here? --Black Flamingo 20:15, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
??? Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,343 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 22:05, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Did you use the subst:nosubst bit? ~ Pointy.png 22:10, 6 October 2011
Just like {{SUBST:User:Username/sig}}. Roye7777777 ~ Talk 14:23, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
I think that's what he was trying to not do, mon, since that dumps the contents of the sig on the page, not the sig itself. {{SUBST:nosubst|User:Username/sig}} would be the intended, though. ~ Pointy.png 19:11, 7 October 2011
Alternately, {{SUBST:DUMB|User:Username/sig}} would do it as well, apparently. Well, Zana Dark certainly... did some odd things. O_o ~ Pointy.png 19:13, 7 October 2011
Ok panic over (problem was I wasn't checking the nonsense box). Now let's get to work. --Black Flamingo 12:35, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
