Uncyclomedia's goal is the spread and promotion of finely-honed idiocy throughout the free world. If you want to propose a new project under the umbrella of the Uncyclomedia Foundation which is in line with this goal, you can:
  • If you are willing to take the blame for it, post it here.
  • Otherwise, post it on the discussion page.

If you want to propose a new language for an existing project, please do so on requests for new languages.

Instructions[edit]

Read this as well as the "research" section below before proposing a new project.

  • Create an account and a user page on this wiki, so people can address their questions to you.
  • Add to the list below your project. Note: DO NOT quote yourself, just type your idea, sig timestamp it, and if your idea is accepted/rejected then you will be quoted. Oh, and you can vote for/against your own idea, but only after someone else has.
  • When your project has 2 votes for, create a page where you describe your plan in, and add this to its own category, which is then added to category Uncyclomedia Foundation.

Research[edit]

Note: Uncyclomedia is not a haven for freeloading bastards like you, too cheap to pony up the dough for a hosting company. If your project doesn't fit the ideals of Uncyclomedia you'll just have to open your moth-ridden pockets and pay for a wiki hosting site such a wikidev.net or Wikia or host it on your own.

Your idea may also be too lame to stand on its own feet, and may be better suited for expanding an existing project.

Individuals attempting to create a new project may benefit from reading the Uses of a wiki.

Existing projects[edit]

See Complete list of Uncyclomedia projects for the list of Uncyclomedia projects.

If you want to expand an existing project into a new language, please see requests for new languages.

Be ashamed[edit]

Any critisim your proposal gets is aimed at you. Next time think longer, and harder about your ideas before submitting them to us. Although we will probably still insult them anyway. Why? Because it's policy. Why is it policy? Because we said so. Bitch.

Unsource[edit]

  • Comment for (unsigned char n=0;n<1600;n ) create_useless_empty_wiki(n); ought to do the trick. Yes, an endless loop repeatedly creating and recreating the same uselessly empty wikis. Look familiar? --Carlb 12:09, 28 July 2006 (EDT) In any case, looks like wikicity.com is taken (it's an outdated WP mirror that still thinks Paul Martin is PM) but perhaps fancruft.org and emptywiki.com would be available? Between those two, we could describe almost all of what would be on 'Uncities' once one omits any wikis that contain actual Uncyclopædias.

Neciklopedija, Serbian Uncyclopedia[edit]

I'm surprised there is no serbian version of Uncyclopedia! Even the parody has serbian version, to be more precise - three versions. I sugest a serbian version of Uncyclopedia wich shoud be called "Neciklopedija" or even better "Нециклопедија", or "Антиклопедија" (Antiklopedija). I would like to start it my own but your "manual" is so farking confusing and unserbian. People from here are dying for something like that and I am the only literate, so help me improve my country literation.--gdin Stosic 06:58, 14. September 2006

UnMapia[edit]

A parody of WikiMapia. WikiMapia allows users to browse, edit and add layers on a Google Map with usefull info. Why not create something like that with info taken from Uncyclopedia? Here's the map itself. You should be able to edit the map yourselves and invite others to do the same. Hosting is also provided by Google. Niku 22:01, 13 December 2008 (GMT)

UnGovernment[edit]

Score: 1

Politics, War,

Uncyclopedia Jr.[edit]

An Uncyclopedia site that is aimed toward ages 9-13, and is more appropriate for children.

There is simple:, although its focus is more a parody of ESL wiki simple.wikipedia.org (English-language subset, as a second language)
That's not even a full wiki yet. It's only a page that's meant to clone Simple's main page. Why shouldn't this go ahead? - 121.218.209.238 09:13, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
It's a bit dangerous to begin with a child-wiki that is supposed to contain "humor" and "parody". Children do actually not understand humour as we adults/adolescents do. Greetings | CartoonistHenning 13:51, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Degradapedia[edit]

A parody of Conservapedia --Helder Oliveira 20:14, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

How can someone make a parody of a site that is so completely irrational and nonsense? Wikipedia is the parody of Conservapedia! Cthulhu.fhtagn 22:33, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
It would be a good proposal, as this site has a content more conservative than Wikipedia itself. Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,341 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 13:56, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

I support Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,341 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 18:57, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

We already have Babel-pages for languages, but everyone can ask for a new namespace on this Meta wiki for another project (e.g. the namespace "Blablapedia:"), before starting up a wiki | CartoonistHenning 11:47, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

UnRecipes[edit]

Not necessarily parodying any site in particular, but recipe sites as a group. —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 01:29, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

I created the namespace UnRecipes: here on UnMeta. I also made a Main Page demo, you can find it here | CartoonistHenning 12:00, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
In that case, I'll customize it a bit and create a few demo pages to demonstrate my idea.
Would you like to have it in a wiki which is run apart from any *pedia, or do you just want to have a new namespace on Uncyclopedia? CartoonistHenning 19:41, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure. A namespace on Uncyclopedia would probably be less work. —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 20:11, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Then again, with a project I wouldn't have to append a namespace to every link, and the CSS would be less complicated. —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 08:53, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
I can't provide you a namespace on Uncyclopedia. You should ask Wikia Staff by the community mail to have a new namespace. I know Wikia might ignore that, but you can always give it a try. If you want to have a new wiki from UnMeta for this, I would like to see (one or two) more users who are willing to help you in the wiki. You are free to edit here on Uncyclomedia as much as you want in the new namespace. I've put a table in advance | CartoonistHenning 11:08, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Neutral - I would like to understand what is this new project. In an analysis, any project up here on UnMeta, if approved, should not be proposed at Wikia. Because they do not care for the communities and where we have to fight for copyright. Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,341 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 23:13, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Either way, I've requested the namespace with a link to this discussion. If nothing happens, I'll just keep running it here. —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 23:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
For - Had not yet seen the bill, why could not vote for it. In the case of UnRecipes, I believe that no uncy has a similar version to the project. Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,341 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 16:38, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Is it alright that I continue running it here as a project? I hadn't really thought about the rules of long-term demos. And also, does it have two supporters? That means it can move to the next step, right? —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 00:31, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Since it's becoming increasingly obvious that I'm not moving to Uncyclopedia, could I have adminship to tweak UnRecipes' CSS, move pages, and so on? —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 23:30, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Nice idea. Perhaps in the database of UnMeta itself? We already have UnSources. For a new wiki, I got the same criteria as in UnRecipes | CartoonistHenning 13:46, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
For Rhubella beach.jpgRhubella Marie, the rat sockpreppie 2,341 preppieditsRhubella.jpg 23:15, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
UnSources is different. It's more for UnClassic books with expired copylefts. This is more like data that the governments consider UnSecret. See wikipedia:WikiLeaks. —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 00:12, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Now for UnSource, there is a version in Desgalipedia (Uncyclopedia Galician) named Desgalifontes. However, the new proposal appears to be innovative for the project. I remember that in addition to secret documents would have to fake telegrams between embassies. In Firefox, you can watch the font code of every web page by Ctrl+U. But I don't know if the coding will work on our wikis | CartoonistHenning 21:09, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
What does that have to do with anything? —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 21:53, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Dunno. I just thought you wanted to adapt the same lay out of WikiLeaks xD CartoonistHenning 22:11, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
The style of the site is identical to a wiki... I think we can simply copy the wiki code.

Apparently, some documents are transcribed as articles with wiki code. I do not think be difficult to create satirical versions of that content. On the other hand, I noticed a related article on Belgium which only appears if you have involved some application such as Adobe. Student support[edit]

I got this idea after reading Book 1 of Percy Jackson: his teacher told him to read "Tom Sawyer", and he read a resume in the Internet. The purpose of this wiki is educational, and a little bit evil: to present resumes of classical books, that most students must read, to help them get "A" or "10" in Literature, without having to read the books. Of course, the wiki would have its educational purpose spoiled if the student could easily find that the resume was hosted in a humorous site, like Uncyclopedia or Desciclopédia, so the alternative - hosting those resumes in those wikis - would be pointless. Of course, the resumes should be as close to the real book as possible, however, they should have enough false information as to make the student that uses it to get a nice "F" or "0", and learn that books should be read. See a correlated idea that worked very nice: the Tolkien sarcasm page and how a lazy "journalist" screwed up badly because he didn't want to read the f book. Cthulhu.fhtagn 22:48, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

I thought to do something similar with auctoris.org (Dutch), to post links to good resumes on the internet. You can try it over there in a different namespace | CartoonistHenning 13:43, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Parody of WebMD, and has silly diseases like "Why am I sneezing tapeworms?" and "Irremovable milk mustache" and "I can't stop my hair." The Happy Spaceman 03:46, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

They sound too made up. If I were you, I would look into the real words for things and parse them together. For example, when I was younger, I diagnosed my little brother with "neuroplegia." That is, neuro-, meaning brain, and plegia, meaning paralysis. —Preceding signed comment added by Airhogs777 (talkcontribsWP) 06:00, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Please note that those are only examples. Anyways, maybe an UnMD namespace here would be suitable? The Happy Spaceman 20:45, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

  • Surely we need a parody of Wikivoyage, but I don't think a separate domain is needed. I'd rather see it like UnBooks/Undictionary/HowTo etc. - in an existing larger community. Also note that geographical dependency of articles (meaning "contributor from one city won't be able to add much to an article about another city") will make quality control very hard. Even non-English Wikivoyages don't have large enough communities for that. Also, if we have only 3 contributors, our parody will be about 3-10 cities only. Maybe 50 articles top - and little to no way to attract new users. With <50 articles, being a subproject like HowTo (referred from the main page and proposed to new users) is much better.
