Hello. A conflict grows on Nonsensopedia and a few users moved to a rival wiki. We will propably talk about the case, but it cannot be a Nonsensopedia or that second wiki. Also it cannot be Central Wikia and Wikia Poland, becouse i'm an admin on both. We need a neutral ground to negotiate. Chronarion said you're the boss here, so I want to ask you about disclosure of . Hello Carl, I've been wondering about the following: Wouldn't it be a good/nice/wonderful/brilliant/ plan to have more communication between the different (languages) uncyclopedias? I was thinking of a namespace or perhaps a separate site, called something like Untercyclopedia (Intercyclopedia). That way we could exchange experiences and such. But maybe there is already a place for that? We already have contact with people from the turkish and portuguese sites. What would you think about this idea? D. G. It's something that had been suggested once, but if it were created as an additional wiki it would overlap the various existing meta and commons wikis, I'd expect. Another possibility would be to create not a wiki but a forum, using something like http://simplemachines.org - certainly possible if there is enough interest in the idea.--Carlb 17:03, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

It is very easy to block an account when a word of dissent is voiced. This a totalitarian manner and the easiest way to destruction in the end, after the war is over. This is not the way open channels like wikis are supposed to be. THE IDEA OF WIKI IS THAT ALL DIFFERENT VOICES ARE HEARD. I've been looking around and it seems the original crew has abandoned ship like you said. When Uncyclopedia left, they really left. But now, as a lot of pages have hardly been changed since february 2007, a lot of information is obsolete. Maybe it's a good thing to update the site? We could actualise pages (like the main page) and archive (Permalink) others. Let's get rid of some of the more bullshhitty things, in fact a kind op clean up, like getting the building ready for new people (Ambassadors & consuls?) It's a bit crammed and dusty now. I'm hesitant to start on it without anybody's consent, but if it's o.k. with you, i could pick up a broom and go through all the rooms. There are people willing to help, and in things i'm not sure about i'll ask you. I'll spend some time here the next few days to read and look around, check out the place and see where things can be made more... positivistic? work out the UnN-plan & such. Hi carlb, I noticed that you registered desencyclopedie.org. From what I have seen during the few past months, I think we can trust you to always act in the best interest of all uncyclopedian communities. I just wanted to inform you that some of us desencyclopedians also start thinking about all the boring stuff (hosting, domain names...). We appreciate the work you made here to maintain some cohesion between all uncyclopedians communities and to keep a backdoor open just in case wikia starts burning some day.

So if own desencyclopedie.org, you are probably the owner of http://miroir.desencyclopedie.org. It's quite a good idea to make a backup but I notice that the pages we delete at desencyclopedie (because they arent't funny or because there is a copyright problem) are still present on your mirror. It's because we're all tired on that that Hikipedia is out of reach and the pages that everyone have worked so hard for may disappear without warning completely. Backups are available on download.uncyc.org and are used to restore the site if anything happens to the database. Hikipedia does have its own registered domain name (hikipedia.info) and user list, so if you have a server at a paid hosting company elsewhere it should be possible to keep the same domain on the new server. This has been done for nl: and kr: - both were once here but are now independent. Mediawiki itself is a free download from mediawiki.org and the other software needed (Apache webserver, MySQL, PHP, cache) are also free. The sites do seem to be slow at times as they share web and database servers with other Uncyclopedia-related wikis, such as pt: ja: zh-tw: which are very heavily used. I'd suspect the database is the bottleneck at the current time? --Carlb 17:00, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Our project is fully ill. For example, if you want to go to an existing user or talk page, somethimes the software gives to you a new page with no content, but if you refresh it for a random number of times (somethimes for tence, sometimes for once), it gaves you the page you wanted. On Toiminnot:Namespaces add a new namespace, marking it as 'default' and giving it the same namespace number as the old namespace you want to replace... then delete the old name for that namespace number. As mw:extension:Simple namespaces in its current form is based on an outdated version of Toiminnot:Interwiki, it can 'add' and 'delete' but provides no separate 'edit' button. If and when I update the extension to match the new version of special:interwiki, that should change... --Carlb 19:13, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

But then there's a little problem with the talk pages of these two namespaces and I have no idea of what causes it. This for an example should be a talk page but it seems like an article page. I tried replacing space with underscore in both Keskustelu_ : namespaces and now it seems to work. What causes these things? Hardware failure. One of the two hard drives in the database server (oscar.uncyclomedia.org) failed completely yesterday; I had the data centre install a new drive but was able to recover nothing from the old drive. I've spent all of yesterday putting the sites back together from backups, so edits up to September 7 have been restored on the affected projects. Images are stored separately from the database, so all should be intact. That still leaves edits to quite a few pages of content posted just before the server failure as missing. --Carlb 20:03, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Okay, thank you for your trouble. What comes to those log actions... We had a little protection operation back then and we protected a huge number of pages unabling them to be moved by anyone who has no sysop rights. This was after we got tired of one headstrong vandal. Now I would like to know could Hikipedia be "locked" so that no one but sysops can move the pages? IP's already are unable to move pages, by default, on pretty much any MediaWiki site. It would be possible to take this further - such as by setting a minimum time before an account has 'autoconfirmed' status, requiring 'emailconfirmed', or even creating a new user privilege 'move' which sysops could grant to whomever they choose. (The latter was done on illogicopedia:, where the 'move' permission is named "sleepwalker" - it and a 'rollback' permission are used to control vandals). Should I set 'autoconfirm' to seven days and create a 'move' privilege grantable by sysops on hikipedia.info? --Carlb 20:41, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Could you nominate me sysop and bureaucrat Frithchiclipéid due to the state of total abandonment of the site. Viewing the issues and history of their Main Page, note that has been abandoned since February 23 this year. A ridiculous situation pra other uncyclopedias.

Just to give you an idea of the situation unfortunate. I had to create myself to Main Page translating the Welsh Uncyclopedia's version. In other words, created a uncy to fall into oblivion? He has usurped supreme power, reducing poor little me and poor little him to mere admins without prior consultation or general discussion. This appears to be some sort of blackmail, since he is issuing demands to other users. He has refused negotiations with us. Therefore, with only one proper bureaucrat of somewhat unpunctual attendance remaining (this one), I come to you. I request that you remove Luoma from the bureaucracy and reinstate us so that we may - God willing - sort this goddamn business out among ourselves with no need for further disturbances. Not quite so. I'm afraid that a whole bunch of Computer Science competent bloodthirsty bad guys are out there to bring the whole Hikipedia to it's knees. This doesn't really differ from the normal state of affairs, though. However, recently a very persistent little kid has launched a site layout altering vandalism spree.
