Wikipediathink

Here you mentioned that Uncyclopediathink is supposed to be a parody of this, seeming confused that folks apparently hadn't heard of it. Technical problem in Wikinet

I don't know if you can solve this, because it looks like a bug in some software. The system files in Wikinet that correspond to many Special Pages show the results that were calculated before the big blackout of 2011-July. For example, the page of required articles, Especial:Arquivos pedidos, and the page of uncategorized pages, Especial:Páginas sem categorias, represent the date 2011-06-17. Macedonian Uncyclopedia Administration

Hello CartoonistHenning, I have seen a link in the Macedonian Uncyclopedia [1] telling that one can become an admin there after asking you about it. My name is Tose Aleksejev and my username in Macedonian Uncyclopedia is Пол Пот Вардарски, just as here. I am a native Macedonian speaker currently living in Russia. I see that Macedonian Uncyclopedia is kind of dying out these days, it was much more active in 2009 and 2010. But I think I could help it to start to develop again. I should have mentioned it earlier, but I do not know anything about these kind of problems (especially how to solve them). Maybe Carl knows anything? The only think I can advise, is to rename them in Latin alphabet. However I can literaly convert cyrillic alphabet, it's up to you how to name it since that has no use. Urgent action needed in Wikinet

Can you use the powers of steward to take an urgent action in Wikinet? The aptly renamed "Moon Man" (former Mgs) is going through a psychotic crisis and is deleting everything. Is is possible to save some backup of Wikinet as it was earlier today? I don't think any action should be immediately taken, from his current behaviour and his previous actions, I guess he might be on the verge of suicide (and by virtual-suiciding he may vent his frustration). Hey boss. I'm going through and cleaning up/updating http://mirror.uncyc.org. Images from http://commons.uncyclomedia.org are drawn into mirror uncyc, even though some are broken/borked. Can you set me up as admin there so I can clean up these borked files as I go along?

I've also asked that you delete a non-borked file as a request from original uploader (or someone using that account) on your commons talk page that you may want to consider. Spambots

Hi!

Man, something needs to be done with all this spam. I just can't believe that we should keep seeing them being created and just keep watching. I mean, there are spammers on every wiki. Range block should work on slowing them down. Even if not stopping completely, they would help a lot. We have spam on Wikimedia wikis too and that is why checkusers have to range block sometimes. This wiki doesn't seem to have abuse filter, so we can work with range blocks anyway.

What has to be done: you have to check all spambots. You can also check their ranges which makes things a lot easier to identify and block. If more than one IP from a same range is used, this range have to be blocked. Otherwise, they will keep coming. If you check carefully, you will notice that the same range is repeated constantly and that is why a range block works. And it is in general not a problem to block them as these spam ranges are used only for spam most of the times. However, if you still want to be sure, you can add a note on block summary with an e-mail address. This e-mail will be used by those that are not spammers request unblock (ex: If you are not a spambot, please send mail to teleswiki [at] gmail.com). For example, I just blocked about 50 accounts here as I am starting to implement it there. As I said, the ranges are repeated and as I block them, they will slowing down.

I am sure that this will help to reduce in a large ammount the spam that is affecting this wiki. It just makes me sad to see that spammers are winning the "battle" here, while we are not even trying. Thanks for your time.Teles (talk) 08:19, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
